Fire ravages CEETA-KEL Hotel at Asokwa

Five out of 38 rooms in CEETA-KEL Hotel at Asokwa in the Asokwa municipality of the Ashanti Region have been gutted by fire.

The blaze started from one of the rooms and spread quickly to other rooms on Tuesday, 4 September 2018 at around 8:00am.

It took the immediate intervention of personnel from the National Fire Service to put the fire under control.

Properties in the affected rooms were destroyed by the fire, but no casualty was recorded.

DOI Henry Giwah, Deputy Ashanti regional commander of the Ghana National Fire Service told newsmen  that they received a distress call and dispatched their men to the scene to put the fire under control.

He said they were able to save 33 rooms out of the 38.

The cause of the fire, he said, was immediately unknown but they have commenced investigations into the matter.
