Equipment allegedly belonging to Yaw Danso, DCE for Bosome Freho on the Minti concession belonging to Rock-Hills Minerals Limited

Yaw Danso, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosome Freho has surprising taken over the concession of Rock-Hills Minerals Limited, a private mining company.

With about six excavators, the DCE and his workers have taken over the Miniti site of the private company and are currently mining illegally using unconventional methods.

Pictures available to this portal shows vigorous activity on the site by assigns of the DCE.

The DCE who was recently heard on radio for threatening the owner of the site, Mr E.K Agyeman through a voice note is reported to have stormed the area to engage in this illegal activity.

Information available to this portal is that three persons working on the site have been picked up by the Bosome Freho District Police Command.

The three are to assist in investigations having been picked on the Minti site by the Police.

Reports say the three persons are known assigns of the DCE.

Speaking to this reporter, Kusi Bonsu, a resident at Asiwa, the district capital said the DCE has been involved in illegal mining popularly known as “galamsey” for years.

Yaa Akyiaa Debrah, a vegetable seller at Minti said the DCE comes to the area almost every weekend with thugs to check on his assigns at the mining site.

Before the President’s nomination of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives late last year, scores of residents at Bosome Freho embarked on a public demonstration against the DCE, YAW DANSO.

They claimed among other things that the DCE was involved in illegal mining.

They alleged that he intimidates and bullies those who do not favour his plans and policies at the Assembly.

The group alleged that the DCE employs intimidatory tactic on persons who come to work and invest in the area which is rich in natural resources.

Meanwhile, a source at the National Bureau of Investigations (NIB) reveals that the outfit has commenced investigations into the matter including the threats allegedly issued by the DCE on the licensed miner.
