Audio: Mother of murdered soldier makes shocking revelation

The mother of the murdered military officer at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region has denied rumours that her son was killed when returning from his girlfriend house.

Madam Yaa Kyera said her son, Sherif Moro, 22, “has never known a woman” and the rumours surrounding his death are concocted lies to disgrace her innocent son.

Madam Kyera stated that she received a message from Sherif’s friend that he was coming home to treat his malaria illness and to repair his laptop, but not to a visit his girlfriend.

She thus appealed to the public to stop spreading falsehood about her son’s unfortunate death.

The 22-year-old soldier with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) band in Sunyani in the Bono Region was reportedly stabbed to death by unknown attackers Saturday, March 4, 2023, dawn.

The soldier according family source was carrying a bag containing laptop, other electronic gadgets and an iPhone which the attackers made away.

The iPhone has since been found, according to the family.

“Sherif since his birth has not slept with any woman, that one I know for sure because he is a person who shares everything with me,” Madam Kyere told Otec News reporter Stephen Adzika.

“All these wild allegations are to disgrace my son after the thugs failed to take all his personal belongings that resulted in his death, she said.

Narrating how she received the news of her eldest child’s death on Otec FM’s morning show on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, Madam Kyere, a vegetable seller, said “I couldn’t believe it”.

“I received a call from the Burma Camp in Accra on Saturday morning that I should come to the barracks for urgent information. I was later told to wait for them in the house and from that time I became nervous and suspicious, she said.

“From that moment people started trouping to my house, watching videos on their mobile phones. I took one of the phones and saw Sherif lying dead in a pool of blood,” she cried uncontrollably while speaking to the host Captain Koda.
