The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosome Freho, Hon Akwasi Darko Boateng is highly tipped to be retained as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for 2024 election at the upcoming primary in the constituency.
Nosing through the constituency over the weekend, it was apparent that the incumbent enjoys the support of seventeen (17) constituency executives who would be voting next week Saturday, 27th January 2024.
The chances of the incumbent MP is further strengthened by the support he has from all the five-member council of elders of the party.

Speaking on the matter, founding member of the NPP in the Bosome Freho constituency, Mr Yaw Amoah Gyamih said he was in full support of the second term bid of Hon Akwasi Darko Boateng.
According to him, since multi party democracy returned in 1992, the incumbent MP had performed better than any of the members of Parliament the area has known.
Mr Gyamih who also doubles as Chairperson of the Council of Elders in Bosome Freho noted that apart from his respectful and affable personality, Hon Boateng had initiated more and better development projects and initiatives than all who have had the opportunity to lead the Constituency as MPs.
“My son i can tell you that Akwasi Darko Boateng has tackled every challenge that we faced in this constituency from security, employment, health, education and even roads and we know that a second term mandate for him would bring us the opportunity to see all our social development challenges tackled”, Mr Gyamih stated.
Sampling the opinions of some delegates, it became apparent that many would be voting for the person who could best develop their constituency out of the five contestants.
Others also stated their votes would go to the person who has shown respect and care to them and also towards the people of the constituency.
However, these factors seem to point to the advantage of the incumbent whose human relations attribute is spoken highly of by the delegates.
Some also pointed to his proactive attitude by describing it as exemplary.
The Bosome Freho constituency has a voter album of 475 members.
Currently, two persons are reported to have passed on to eternity.
