NPP to punish any individual who will be caught engaging in vote buying

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned that it will punish any individual who will be caught engaging in any act of vote buying in their coming parliamentary primaries

The General Secretary of the Party, Justin Kodua Frimpong said the party strongly opposes vote-buying and always cautions its members against the illegal act.

Addressing the Media in a press conference in the Ashanti Region on Monday January 22, 2024, Mr Kodua cautioned all Parliamentary aspirants and their supporters to desist from any act that will amount to vote buying.

Announcing protocols guiding the party’s Parliamentary primaries slated for January 27, 2024, the chief scribe of NPP said all aspirants are prohibited from camping delegates ahead of the primaries.

He noted that, there will be no congregation and speeches on the day of elections.

The party as part of the protocols, also revealed that, there will be no proxy voting in the party’s Parliamentary primaries.

Among the 32-point protocols, the NPP bared all delegates from taking pictures of ballot papers during voting

He caution that any individual caught taking pictures or a cast displaying ballot will be arrested and handed over to police.

Justin Kodua Frimpong emphasized that, the leadership of the NPP will ensure a free, fair and transparent elections to ensure the party is united after the primaries.
