Manso Tontokrom: Three dead in clash between residents and Asanko Mines Security
Residents of Manso Tontokrom in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region have reportedly clashed with some armed thugs leading the death of three persons in the process.
A resident who pleaded anonymity in an interview with OTEC News disclosed that, the thugs who allegedly stormed the area to guard some mining Concessions shot one of the community members after they were confronted by some youth in the area.
“All I can say is that, these people came in five sprinter busses heavily armed and so some of the youth questioned their presence in the community, this lead to a scuffle between two groups”.
“The thugs however started firing their guns on the unarmed civilians”
“The first person to have been shot dead by the thugs is native of the community who is yet to be identified”.
The source gain added that, some youth in the community retaliated and ended up killing two of the armed thugs.
The sad incident which occurred on Saturday March 2, 2024 has since left the community into chaos with many fleeing for their lives.
Residents are thus calling on security agencies to help restore calm in the community
