Two confirmed dead in another accident in Offinso North
At least two people have been confirmed dead in another accident at Akumadan in the Offinso North Constituency of the Ashanti Region, on Saturday.
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has confirmed the casualties revealing that the accident was caused by a truck carrying a cement mixer that was navigating from the Nkenkensu road toward the Local Government University construction site.
Asaase News gathers that the cement mixer, seemingly not securely fastened, unexpectedly dislodged and collided with an oncoming Ssangyong bus with registration number AS 9880-12.
The impact of the collision resulted in the death of the two victims who, as of now, remain unidentified.
Emergency response teams were promptly dispatched to the scene to manage the aftermath and attend to any injured individuals.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, including the adherence to safety protocols during the transportation of the cement mixer.
Offinso North District NADMO coordinator Elijah Mamoah confirmed the development to Asaase News indicating that it is the second accident that has occurred in the constituency in the last 72 hours.
