President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has challenged former President John Dramani Mahama to stop taking undue credit for the implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy, citing that Mahama’s claims are unfounded and misleading.
The President emphasized that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is the rightful owner of the free SHS program, which was a flagship campaign promise.
Akufo-Addo debunked Mahama’s claims, pointing out that the former president had sponsored advertisements against the program before its implementation, demonstrating his lack of support for the policy.
The President argued that Mahama has no moral right to claim ownership of the program, and urged him to acknowledge the NPP’s achievement in implementing free SHS.
He said this when the NPP officially unveiled their Flagbearer Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and running mate Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday July 9, 2024
