YEA supports 8,500 youth in Ashanti Region, 143 small businesses receive financial aid

The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Kofi Baah Agyepong, has disclosed that approximately 8,500 youth in the Ashanti Region are currently on the agency’s payroll.

 These beneficiaries are engaged in various modules, including Community Protection Assistance, Youth in Afforestation, among others.

Speaking at the YEA’s first Beneficiaries Forum in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, Agyepong highlighted the agency’s efforts to support young people in the region.

 He revealed that the government, through YEA, has provided financial assistance to 143 small businesses, totaling over two million cedis.

 Each of these businesses received a little over GH¢18,500, enabling them to expand and employ more youth.

He noted that the initiative demonstrates YEA’s commitment to empowering young people and promoting entrepreneurship in the Ashanti Region.
