Amansie South: Two Suspected Armed Robbers Lynched Over 30 Ounce Gold Theft
A disturbing incident occurred at Manso Watreso in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, where two suspected armed robbers were lynched by a mob.
The accused, along with two others who are currently on the run, allegedly robbed some miners of 30 ounces of gold and 11,000 cedis.
According to eyewitnesses, the four suspects stormed the community around 8:00 pm on Monday, armed with guns and machetes.
They attacked the miners , making off with the stolen goods.
Unfortunately, the two suspects who were caught by the mob were lynched.
Hon Kofi Mensah, the Assembly Member for the area, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng reported that police have conveyed the bodies of the deceased to the morgue.
The police are currently on a manhunt for the two remaining suspects.
The Assembly Member emphasized that, the incident highlights the need for improved security measures in the community to protect residents and businesses.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has been working to address the issue of armed robbery in the region, with recent arrests and investigations underway
