Former NDC Ashanti regional Chairman, Yaw Owusu Bimpeh wins controversial regional Council of State election

Former Ashanti Region Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Owusu Bimpeh, has emerged as the winner of the Ashanti Regional Council of State election in a controversial manner.

Mr. Bimpeh secured 49 votes, while his main contender, Agric Nzema Hene Nana Nkansah Boadu, garnered 35 votes.

 A total of 85 delegates cast their ballots, with no spoiled votes recorded. However, one delegate failed to show up for the election.

In a post-election interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NDC, Augustus Nana Kwasi Andrews, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful election.

He assured that Ashanti Region’s representative on the Council of State would effectively represent the region’s interests.
