Mampong Traditional Council Activates Committee for Late Mamponghene’s Funeral Rites

The Asante Mampong Traditional Council has activated a Standing Protocol Committee to commence arrangements for the funeral rites of the late Asante Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II.

The Protocol Committee, which was already in existence at the Mampong Palace, was activated following the unfortunate demise of the Occupant of the Silver Stool.

The committee is headed by the renowned Protocol Expert, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II, son of the late Asante Mamponghene and Adontenhene for Mampong Traditional Council.

According to Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II, the committee will be supported by other sub-committees, including the Media and Communication Committee, Cultural and Tradition Committee, Finance Committee, Records and Budget Committee, Transport and Accommodation Committee.

These committees will be assigned specific tasks to ensure the smooth planning of the funeral.

Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II in an exclusive interview with OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng on Monday emphasized that every move will be done in consultation with the Asante Mamponghemaa, Nana Agyakomaa Difie II, and all Members of the Council to ensure transparency and accountability.

Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II commended Mamponghemaa and other members of the council for their show of courage and sterling leadership in these hard times.

The council is working tirelessly to ensure that the funeral rites are conducted with the dignity and respect befitting the late Asante Mamponghene.
