Kofi Job and Wife construct storm-damaged classrooms at Atwima Koforidua

Renowned road contractor Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Esther Okyere Gyebi, are renovating a three-classroom block at the Atwima Koforidua cluster of schools in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

The renovation, being undertaken by the philanthropic couple through the Kofi Job Foundation, is to honor the memory of the late Mr. Teddy Moses Okyere, father of Dr. Mrs. Esther Okyere Gyebi and father-in-law of Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job.

The decision follows the one-week observation of Mr. Teddy Moses Okyere, held at the school’s park.

Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job, who attended the event, saw the school block in a dilapidated state and opted to intervene.

The Kofi Job Foundation has since liaised with community leaders and school authorities to begin renovation works on the block.

Headmaster of the school, Mr. Alexander Ansah Amakye, told OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim on Sunday that about 100 students have been displaced after a heavy storm ripped off the roof of the three-classroom block.

“We have gone through very difficult times following the disaster.

The situation has already been reported to all the appropriate authorities,” Mr. Amakye said. “Thanks to Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job and his wife Dr. Esther Okyere Gyebi, they are fixing the problem for us.”

He noted that the support from the Kofi Job Foundation has come at the right time and will ease a serious burden on the school.

Speaking for the family of Mr Teddy Moses Okyere , Mr. Asante Baffour Awuah hailed their in-law, Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job, for stepping in.

“He was here to inspect the funeral grounds and saw the school’s situation, so he opted to fix the problem for the school,” Mr. Awuah said.

“The family is very grateful for this honor done us, and we will follow the situation to ensure the work is done on time for the school.”
