The Chief of the Ejurahene Divisional Council and Adontenhene of the Asante Mampong Traditional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has commended Muslims for their contribution to Ghana’s development as they mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festival.

The renowned chief, who is known for fostering unity between Muslims and Christians in his communities, sent warm felicitations to the Muslim faithful on the occasion of the auspicious celebration.

In his Eid message, Barimah Osei Hwedie II said: “I warmly congratulate all Muslims and wish you a blessed and joyful Sala filled with peace, happiness and good health. May Allah accept our prayers, forgive our shortcomings and unite us in love and harmony.”

He also used the occasion to preach peace, love, unity and reconciliation, noting that the spirit of sacrifice and compromise embodied in Eid-ul-Adha is needed as the world faces challenges of multiple dimensions.

“As the name suggests, Eid-ul-Adha is a festivity of sacrifice and an opportunity to reaffirm our faith in Allah,” the chief stated.

He appealed to Ghanaians to emulate the values of obedience and selflessness demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim during the festival.
