Ashanti NPP Constituency Chairmen Caucus unveils new executives; Dean calls for unity ahead of 2028 polls

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairmen Caucus in the Ashanti Region has officially inaugurated a new team of executives to lead the caucus following the recently concluded constituency executive elections across the region.

The executives were introduced at a brief ceremony held on Wednesday, June 15, 2026  where the newly elected Dean of the Caucus, Kofi Acheampong, the Constituency Chairman for Manso Adubia, expressed gratitude to his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him.

“I am deeply humbled by the trust and confidence my colleagues have placed in me. I thank every constituency chairman for this honour and assure you that I will work diligently with the entire leadership team to advance the interest of our caucus and the party,” Mr. Acheampong said.

He stressed the need for unity, cooperation and discipline among constituency chairmen, describing the Ashanti Region as the electoral stronghold of the NPP.

“As we prepare towards the 2028 general elections, this is the time for unity of purpose. We must put aside our differences, work together as one family and strengthen our grassroots structures to ensure the party records another convincing victory,” he stated.

Mr. Acheampong further called on all constituency chairmen to support the newly elected executives in executing their mandate, emphasizing that collective effort would be crucial to achieving the party’s electoral objectives.

Serving alongside him is Alex Kwabena Sarfo Kantanka, Constituency Chairman for Juaben, as Vice Dean. Frederick Agyemang Mensah of Kwabre East was elected Secretary, while Abdul Salam Issah of Atwima Nwabiagya North will serve as Spokesperson.

Other members of the executive include Kwame Owusu of Adansi Asokwa as Organizer, Benjamin Fosu Nkrumah of Asokwa as Treasurer, Thomas Hayford Ofosuhene of Afigya Kwabre North as Welfare Officer, and Kwaku Frimpong Patrick of Bosome Freho as Chief Whip.

The caucus also named Dominic Bosompem, Constituency Chairman for Odotobri, as Senior Advisor. He will be supported by Edward Asadu and Rev. Amoasi Takyi of Afigya Kwabre South as members of the advisory team.

The newly constituted leadership is expected to coordinate the activities of constituency chairmen across the Ashanti Region, strengthen cohesion among the party’s grassroots leadership, and spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing the NPP’s organizational effectiveness ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The Constituency Chairmen Caucus remains a key structure within the NPP, providing a platform for constituency chairmen to deliberate on issues affecting the party at the grassroots while presenting a united front in pursuit of the party’s electoral ambitions.
