Allah Bar Fire: Manhyia South MP supports victims with over GH¢20,000 and food items

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has donated over twenty thousand Ghana cedis and food items to victims of the recent fire outbreak at the Afia Kobi Electoral Area near the Manhyia Hospital.
The MP also pledged roofing sheets to the landlord to help rebuild the affected house.
This comes after fire razed the top floor of a three-storey building last Thursday, destroying twelve bedrooms and properties worth hundreds of thousands of cedis.
It took officials of the Ghana National Fire Service, GNFS, to bring the inferno under control.
The MP, during his visit on Sunday, August 23, 2026, said he had to intervene considering the dire nature of the situation.
According to him, every individual in the constituency is his responsibility.
He stated, “I came here mainly because as their MP, every individual in this constituency is my responsibility, so I came to sympathize with them. I believe this support will help relieve them in a certain way from their ordeals now.”
The victims, after receiving the items, commended the MP for his compassion, noting that they lost everything in the inferno
They added that the MP’s support was timely and much needed.
