Free SHS Placement – GES explains only reason a student may not be placed

The Ghana Education Service, GES, has explained the only reason why a student may not get a chance to be placed in any Senior High School in the ongoing placement.

According to GES, there is no cut-off point since the inception of the Free SHS Policy.

However, students with an aggregate of 9 in both Core Mathematics and Integrated Science will not be placed.

The Public Relations Officer for GES in the Ashanti Region, Henry Osei Boateng, said this in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on Monday.

This comes after GES began the Computerised School Selection and Placement System, CSSPS, on Monday.

Mr. Boateng noted that all students with the pass mark will get a school.

“GES will ensure all students get a school. We are encouraging parents and teachers to guide their children in the selection system,” he said.

The GES is urging parents and candidates to take the selection process seriously and choose schools according to their grades and programme preferences to avoid challenges.
