Govt’s economic gains only on paper, not in people’s pockets – Dr. Gideon Boako

Dr. Gideon Boako, Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency

The Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency, Dr. Gideon Boako, says the government’s claims of economic gains are only reflecting in books and not in reality.

According to him, while economic figures may look good on paper, they are not reflecting in the markets and in the pockets of ordinary Ghanaians.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Dr. Cash on OTEC FM’s Afternoon Political Show Dwabrem on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

“The government’s claim of better economic management is only in books. Now government is talking about low inflation from 23% to 4.6%. However, these are mere rhetorics with no impact on the people,” he stated.

Dr. Boako noted that the government appears to be more focused on getting “clean books” instead of delivering real development and growth for citizens.

He called on the government to “sit up, tell the people the reality and stop giving them false hopes.”
