The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah popularly known as “COKA”, has called on former constituency chairmen to execute proper handovers to their successors to ensure seamless administrative continuity across the region.
Addressing a delegation of past constituency chairmen who paid a courtesy call to congratulate him and the newly elected regional executive committee, Chairman Appiah emphasized the importance of accountability, documentation, and institutional memory as the party prepares its strategy for the 2028 general elections.
Accountability:
During the meeting, Chairman Odeneho advised outgoing leaders to provide comprehensive handover notes, account for all party assets in their possession, and outline unresolved constituency matters alongside actionable advice for the incoming officers.
Drawing from his personal leadership trajectory, the regional chairman highlighted his own track record of administrative transparency.
“As a former constituency chairman myself, I provided detailed handover notes to my successor, including a full inventory of party assets in my possession. This ensured the new chairman could step in and administer the office effectively from day one,” Chairman Odeneho stated.
Inclusive Governance:
To maintain party cohesion, Chairman Odeneho assured the former executives that his administration would adopt an inclusive approach.
He emphasized that every former officer retains a vital role in restructuring the party’s grassroots base in the Ashanti Region, the traditional stronghold of the NPP.
He noted that winning the 2028 national elections requires total unity and the collective experience of both past and present leaders:
Grassroots Mobilization:
Integrating former officers into strategic advisory and campaign roles.
Structural Reform:
Strengthening internal communication channels from the constituency to the regional level.
Resource Optimization:
Ensuring local party offices are fully equipped to drive voter engagement.

Former Regional Chairman:
A former regional chairman, Mr F.F Anto Commended COKA’s early leadership initiatives and encouraged him to maintain his focus on grassroots restructuring to achieve timely political dividends.
Constituency Chairman:
Mr Owusu Bempah, Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman pledged full logistical support toward the completion of the party’s new regional secretariat donated by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and committed to driving campaign efforts for 2028.
Northern Diaspora Coalition:
A Kumasi-based advocacy group representing communities from the five northern regions formally declared its support, committing to mobilize voter turnout for the NPP in upcoming elections.
