The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, led by Regional Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, alias Asanteman COKA, has distributed 2,000 chop boxes, student mattresses and trunks to needy Junior High School graduates preparing for Senior High School education.
Asanteman COKA distributed 1,000 chop boxes and 1,000 trunks to support the students through identifiable groups including media firms and trading groups among others.
Asanteman COKA on Wednesday visited the Racecourse Market to give out the trunks and chop boxes to queens in charge of the various trading groups.
Speaking to the traders during the donation, Asanteman COKA said the move was to support needy parents and their wards preparing for Senior High School education.
“We know how some students and parents are struggling to get these items, so we decided to give you our widow’s mite,” he said.
“I urge you to ensure these items reach the very needy students who truly need support.”
Asanteman COKA pledged that the NPP in the Ashanti Region will continue to strengthen its relationship with traders and ensure the party assists them in many ways they can.
For her part, the Leader of all the Queen Mothers in the market, Nana Kyeiwaa, expressed gratitude to Asanteman COKA for the support.
She noted the items have come at the right time, adding that the students indeed needed the support.
She noted the traders will always open their doors for the NPP and ensure continuous collaboration between the two.
