2028 Polls: Kumasi racecourse traders pledge massive support for Bawumia

Some traders in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region have assured the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, of their readiness to support his presidential bid in the 2028 polls.

The traders working at the Kumasi Racecourse Market say they will vote massively for the NPP’s Flagbearer this time round to ensure he becomes President in the next general polls.

They said this on Wednesday when the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, alias Asanteman COKA, donated trunks and chop boxes to some needy students preparing for Senior High School education.

Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng after the donation, the traders revealed they failed to vote in the 2024 polls but have decided to vote in the next polls.

“Indeed we are ready for change, yes most of us here failed to vote in the 2024 polls, but we regret taking that decision,” one trader said.

“Now we have resolved to vote massively for the NPP in the 2028 polls after the party’s Chairman Asanteman COKA met us and assured us of their support.”

Queen mother for the Yam sellers line, Nana Yaa Foriwaa, after receiving the donation on behalf of the traders, said historically, traders have always voted for the NPP.

She noted the traders will support the NPP in the next general polls, adding that they have shelved all the sentiments that stopped them from voting.

She however called on the NPP to avoid repeating the same actions that caused their downfall in the 2024 polls.
