Former Deputy Education Minister, Professor Kingsley Nyarko, has called on government to maintain the traditional double-track system in some Senior High Schools to ensure all prospective SHS students are admitted in the ongoing admission process.
“If the infrastructure in these Senior High Schools is not enough to accommodate as many students as possible, then the traditional calendar must be maintained to ensure no student is left behind,” he said.
The Member of Parliament for Kwadaso said this when he commissioned a six-unit classroom block at Nyakyerenease on Wednesday in his constituency.
He noted government has no reason to rush into changing the calendar which allows for more students to be enrolled.
Professor Kingsley Nyarko used the occasion to call on the Finance Ministry to ensure funds are available for the running of the various SHSs.
He noted education is a right not a privilege, urging government to ensure all get educated.
