Ashanti Regional Minister urges chiefs and residents to support Accra-Kumasi Expressway Project

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has called on chiefs and residents affected by the Kumasi-Accra Expressway project to continue supporting government to deliver the project on time.

The call was made on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Kwaso in the Ejisu Municipality, where the Ghana Armed Forces handed over the 175.6-kilometer cleared Right of Way to the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

Dr. Amoakohene acknowledged the efforts and sacrifices of affected residents, chiefs and farmers who have cooperated during the clearing exercise.

He said more still needs to be done to help push the project forward and keep it alive until completion.

He reiterated government’s commitment to ensuring that the expressway, which will reduce travel time and cost between Accra and Kumasi, is completed as scheduled.
