Interchange project as work reaches 5%
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has urged contractors working on the Suame Interchange Project Phase One to accelerate construction and explore measures to shorten the project timeline.
He expressed concern over the pace of work, noting that only about 5 percent of the interchange project phase one has been completed, while the current completion target of 2028 remains too far away.
Speaking during an inspection of the project, Agbodza called for a crash programme to accelerate critical aspects of the project, urging the contractor and other stakeholders to coordinate their efforts and work simultaneously where possible.
“I can see that we are just 5 percent of the interchange itself. I can understand the reasons for the delay, the rescoping and everything, but now we know what we want to do.
“I think the speed from where we where the last time is good progress. We are on schedule to hand over that one but everybody knows the biggest problem is the interchange.”
