Prof. Ameyaw Akumfi, touching base with party faithful in the easting corner of the Bono East region appealed to polling officers to work even harder in the final stateges of the 2024 campaign to secure victory for Dr Mahammudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate and the respective parliamentary candidates.
The two day tour in the region began from Kajaji in the Send East Constituency through to Kwame Danso in the Sene West Constituency before raping up in the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency.
The former Education Minister and former member of parliament for the people of Techiman North met Constituency Executives and polling station executives and charged them to appeal to Npp members to do away with aparty and go out to vote on election day.
The one time contestant of the party’s national Chairmanship position further remainded the party forks of what happened in 2008 when inspite of the execellent performance of President Kufuor’s government the party lost in the general election due to aparty and internal rangglings.
In Atebubu, a meeting with the constituency and polling officers, he emphasized the need for the constituency executive and polling station officers to work together to support the parliamentary candidate Hon. Abu in this final hour.
He also met with Chiefs and people in the area to canvas for vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the various parliamentary candidates.
Prof Ameyaw-Akumfi had earlier in the year donated Motorbikes, farm inputs and money to parliamentary candidates of orphan constituencies. On this trip he donated undisclosed amount of money to support the work of the polling station, constituency executives and parliamentary candidates.
He was accompanied by Hon Kofi Amoakohene,former Member of parliament for the people of Atebubu Amantin who is also a member of the party’s regional reconciliation committee, Chairman Thomas Adu Appiah former Bono East Regional Chairman, Hon. Peter Mensah former DCE for Techiman North and some other party activists.
