Akpini Paramount Chief Rallies Citizens To Support Development Initiatives

Togbui Dagadu IX, Paramount Chief of Akpini Traditional Area

The Paramount Chief of the Akpini Traditional Area and President of the Akpini Traditional Council; Okpekpewuokpe Akpinifia Dagadu IX has encouraged his people both home and abroad to be proactive when  it comes to matters of development of the area.

Addressing the youth of Kpando after a walk, the Paramount Chief assured them that his doors are opened for development.

“My Paramountcy is like an extension  board, if you have any great ideas for our development, all you need to do is to come and plug in and before long, there will be rapid development” he said.

He encouraged sons of the soil who are doing well all over the world to come back and develop their home and also seek out opportunities for their brothers and sisters who have not been so fortunate.

Details:

He also touched on education saying the fortunes of Kpando as far as education is concerned were dwindling and called on parents to be particular about the education of their children.

The Chief was sad that despite Kpando being a hub for education, with schools like Bishop Herman College, Kpando Senior High School, Kpando Technical Institute, and others, the academic development of the youth of the area remained a pale shadow of what it used to be.

He was displeased with what he described as a trend of bad parenting where parents do not care to know where their children are at odd hours nor how they find money to acquire certain items.

He assured that his Akpinifia Academic Excellence Awards would continue to reward pupils and other stakeholders in Education who distinguish themselves and called for all hands to be on deck towards the holistic development of the area.

Charge:

He explained to the people that the development of the area is a collective responsibility which he seeks to exemplify in his annual walk.

“The walk is for health, so we can live to develop Kpando. The walk is for unity. The walk that I lead is to tell you all that the journey will be long and arduous but I will be in front, leading us all to victory” he said.
