The Ashanti Regional President of Ghana Medical Association Paa Kwesi Baidoo has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, effective April 30, 2025.

According to a letter signed by Dr. Calistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, the necessary steps should be taken to regularize the appointment in accordance with the Ghana Health Service and Teaching Hospitals Act 1996 (Act 525) as amended.

This development comes after Professor Okyere Addai Mensah was relieved of his duties as CEO of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The nomination of Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo is expected to bring new leadership to the hospital.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Baidoo served as the President of the Ashanti Regional chapter of the Ghana Medical Association.

The appointment of Dr. Baidoo is seen as a significant move, given his background in the medical field.

As President of the Ghana Medical Association’s Ashanti Regional chapter, he demonstrated leadership skills and a deep understanding of the healthcare sector.

The new CEO is expected to bring his expertise and experience to the hospital, building on the foundation laid by his predecessor.
