The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is arguably the most powerful traditional ruler in Ghana, marks his 75th birthday anniversary on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II was born Nana Barima Kwaku Duah on Saturday, May 6, 1950, to Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II and Nana Kwame Boakye-Dankwa.
He is the third son and youngest of the five children.
His siblings include Nana Ama Konadu, the 14th Asantehemaa; as well as the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Barima Kwabena Poku, and Barima Akwasi Prempeh.
The Asantehene marked the 26th anniversary of his enstoolment in April 2025.
He ascended to the Golden Stool on April 26, 1999, becoming the 16th Asantehene.
