Photos: Thousands Gather for One-Week Observation of Late Asante Mamponghene Daasebre Osei Bonsu II

The one-week observation of the late Asante Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, has drawn an unprecedented gathering, with thousands attending the event.

The turnout has exceeded expectations, as people from all walks of life flocked to Asante Mampong to be part of the occasion.

The venue for the one-week celebration, the forecourt of the Asante Mampong palace, was packed to capacity with mourners, forcing others to wait outside.

Notable among the dignitaries attending the funeral are the former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia; former Board Chairman of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Hon. Kennedy Agyapong; Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene; and former Education Minister, Dr. Osei Yaw Akwabena Adutwum, among others.

 Paramount chiefs, queen mothers, clergy, security agencies, and representatives from state departments and agencies were also in attendance.

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on the sidelines of the event, expressed gratitude to all sympathizers and mourners.

 He commended them for attending the event, adding that the late Asante Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, deserved such a prominent burial.

He described Daasebre Osei Bonsu II as a statesman who served his country with honesty and dignity.

He appealed to the public to continue supporting the Asante Mampong Traditional Council until the final funeral rites.
