I believe in prayer, but full day prayer plus another holiday will affect productivity –  Kwadaso MP

The Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency, Professor Kingsley Nyarko, has expressed concerns over President John Dramani Mahama’s decision to set July 1st as a National Day of Prayer, which he believes will negatively impact the country’s productivity.

According to Professor Nyarko, the country could have observed the prayer on the same day as the Founder’s Day holiday, instead of dedicating a full working day to prayer.

Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Elizabeth Gyamfua Fosu, the MP stated that having a full working day for prayer and another day for the holiday was unnecessary.

Professor Nyarko suggested that the prayer and holiday be combined on the same day to prevent wasting a productive day.

This decision, he believes, would be more beneficial for the country’s economic growth, as many have argued that the separate day for prayer would not be helpful in this regard.
