Odike endorses Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum as best hope to lead NPP to victory in 2028

Founder and Leader of the Ghana Union Government, Akwasi Addai Odike, has thrown his support behind Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, describing him as the visionary leader capable of steering the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to victory in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking on OTEC FM’s afternoon political talk show Dwabrem, hosted by Prince Nii Ardey, also known as Dr Cash, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, Odike praised Dr Adutwum’s unblemished character and remarkable track record at the Ministry of Education.

According to him, Dr Adutwum’s tenure has been unprecedented, marked by bold reforms and a clear commitment to transforming the country’s education system.

He described the Minister as a “generational thinker” whose ideas transcend partisan politics and are rooted in the long-term development of the nation.

Odike further stressed that Dr Adutwum possesses the qualities needed to unite the NPP’s rank and file ahead of the 2028 elections.

He believes the Minister’s integrity and inclusive leadership style make him the best candidate to rally the party and secure electoral success.

The NPP is set to hold its presidential primaries on January 31, 2026, and nominations for aspirants have since been opened.

Odike’s endorsement adds to growing public discourse about who should lead the governing party into the next election cycle, as the party gears up to elect a new flagbearer to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
