Parliamentary delegation pays tribute to late Asantehemaa

Parliamentary Delegation, led by First Deputy Speaker and leadership of Majority and Minority, pays tribute to late Asantehemaa.

The team joined Ministers of State, Diplomatic Corp, MCE’s & DCE’s

Non-Ashanti Chiefs and Mining Compaines to commiserate with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and express solidarity with the Asante Kingdom during the third day of the Dɔte Yie funeral rites.

The delegation included First Deputy Speaker Bernard Ahiafor, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, Deputy Minority Whip Hon Patricia Appiagyei among other parliamentarians that  matter

The parliamentary delegates also presented cash and assorted items to support the ceremonies

In a brief statement, delegation leader Benard Ahiafor described the act as a sincere show of respect for the Asantehene and the royal family

The four-day rites, which began on Monday, have drawn traditional leaders, clergy, politicians, and corporate institutions from across Ghana to Kumasi to honour the memory of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who served as mother of the Asante nation until her passing.
