Kumasi: 7-year-old boy drowns in heavy rainfall at Abrepo
A 7-year-old boy who has only been identified as Kwame has tragically drowned following heavy rainfall at Abrepo Bronikrom, in the Bantama Submetro of the Kumasi Metropolist in the Ashanti Region
The young boy according to residents was among three children bathing in the rainwater when one of their slippers was swept away.
In an attempt to retrieve the slipper, the boy,was swept away by the flood in the gutter.
The sad incident occurred in Saturday September 25,2025
Eyewitnesses speaking to OTEC News reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng who were visibly shocked by the incident said all efforts to retrieve the boy have been unsuccessful.
“We are really scared because this is the first time this thing is happening here in our community,” they shared, highlighting the shock felt by local residents.
The boy has still not been retrieved as of the time of filling this report leaving residents in anxiety.
