COCOBOD pledges timely supply of fertilizers to boost cocoa yields

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing timely and continuous supply of fertilizers to cocoa farmers in Ghana.
This move aims to improve yields and support the cocoa sector.
According to Jerome K. Sam, Head of Public Affairs for COCOBOD, the organization believes that timely supply of farming inputs is crucial to the sector’s success.
COCOBOD addressed concerns raised by farmers at a meeting organized by the Cocoa, Coffee and Sheanut Farmers Association (COCOSHE) in Kumasi on Tuesday October 7,2025.
Jerome Sam, representing COCOBOD’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Randy Abbey, assured farmers that their grievances would be compiled and addressed.
“We have taken all their concerns, as major stakeholders, it’s our duty to compile their grievances and ensure they are addressed.”
“The farmers had expressed concerns about the supply of fertilizers, which COCOBOD is already working to address” .
Jerome Sam emphasized the government’s commitment to improving cocoa production and collaborating with industry stakeholders.
“They raised issues bordering their work, for instance, they called on government to supply more fertilizers to them, something COCOBOD is already working to achieve.”
