Amansie West District: 28-year-old dies after clash with sex workers

A 28-year-old man, Yaw Asamoah, has lost his life in a tragic incident at Abrense, near Atobrakrom in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.

 The deceased had reportedly lost GHC1,000 after patronizing the services of a commercial sex worker, and attempts to recover the money led to a heated argument.

According to residents, Asamoah was later found dead in an abandoned mining pit, with many pointing fingers at the sex workers and their accomplices.

Two suspects have been arrested by police at Manso Nkwanta and are currently assisting with investigations.

Hon Samuel Yeboah, Assembly Member for the area, expressed shock and outrage over the incident.

“We saw our brother dead in a galamsey pit two days after the heated argument. While we don’t know what killed him, we believe this death is not natural,” he said.

Yeboah appealed to the police to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book, adding that the community demands justice for the deceased.
