Kennedy Agyapong poised to create jobs for Ghanaian youth – Naa Torshie Addo asserts

Mrs Irene Naa Torshie Addo, former Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund and Leading Campaign Team Member for Kennedy Agyapong
Irene Naa Torshie Addo, former Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and a leading campaigner for Mr. Kennedy Akompreko Agyapong, maintains that he is the only flagbearer aspirant with the proven credibility to provide essential employment for the youth of Ghana.
Legacy of Social Intervention:
Addressing delegates in the Asokwa Constituency over the weekend, Mrs. Addo highlighted the progressive contributions of previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administrations.
She recalled that former President John Agyekum Kufuor pioneered policies that ensured free maternal access and delivery for Ghanaian women.
She then noted that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo continued this legacy by implementing the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy nationwide.
Mrs. Addo emphasized that the crucial task remaining is to secure meaningful employment for the many graduates emerging from SHS and tertiary institutions.
Man of Action and Business Acumen:
Mrs. Addo argued that among the aspirants in the NPP’s upcoming flagbearer election, only Kennedy Agyapong has demonstrated the capacity and commitment to generate jobs, particularly for young people.
“Kennedy Agyapong is a proven doer who creates job opportunities for people and currently has many youth working across about four different business outfits he possesses,” Mrs. Addo stated.
The former Member of Parliament for Tema and DACF Administrator stressed that it is time for the party to rally behind a successful businessman from their ranks who can lead the nation’s transformation through rapid industrialization.
She underscored that Mr. Agyapong is a person who consistently delivers on his promises.
Rationale for Support:
Mrs. Addo explained her decision to shift her support from the camp of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and a fellow flagbearer hopeful.
She recounted having a strong conviction about the kind of leader needed to secure a victory for the NPP in the critical 2028 general elections.
She warned that the 2028 contest leaves no room for experimentation, suggesting it would be unwise to back a candidate perceived as having failed.
Mrs. Addo described Mr. Agyapong as a firm, outspoken, straightforward, and incorruptible individual.
Apology and a Vision:
Mrs. Naa Torshie Addo took the opportunity to offer an apology to the Ghanaian public regarding Mr. Agyapong’s past statements, which some found harsh or intemperate.
She assured the delegates and the nation that Kennedy Agyapong is now a reformed and changed man whose singular vision is to ensure that the people of Ghana, especially the youth, are provided with jobs and the opportunity to thrive in life.
