Dr Bawumia’s campaign team visit Manhyia, thanks Asantehene after victory
The campaign team of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has visited the Manhyia Palace to express their gratitude to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei II, a day after winning the party’s presidential primaries.
The team, led by the MP for Efiduase Asokore, Dr. Kwame Ayew Afriyie, said they couldn’t wait to thank the Asantehene, especially since the visit coincided with the first Akwasidae of the year.
Dr. Ayew Afriyie stated that the team was grateful to the Asantehene for his guidance and prayers before, during, and after the polls.
“We are fully aware of how his Royal Majesty the Asantehene prayed and continues to pray for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in this polls, so we owe this victory to him,” he said.
He added that Dr. Bawumia plans to visit the Asantehene in person as soon as he returns from his travels.
Dr. Ayew Afriyie noted that the team believes in the prayers offered by the Asantehene and will frequently visit the palace for blessings.
The visit was a gesture of appreciation for the Asantehene’s support and prayers, which the team believes contributed to their victory
