We’ll use 24-hour economy market funding to finish Krofrom market project – Dr Frank Amoakohene

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has confirmed that the government will use funding from its flagship 24-hour economy policy to complete the stalled Krofrom Market project in Kumasi
According to him, instead of starting new markets, the government has decided to inject resources into stalled projects like Krofrom to serve as models for the 24-hour economy.
This initiative is part of a broader plan to establish 43 model markets across the Ashanti Region, with priority given to completing abandoned infrastructure.
Speaking in an interview when questioned about the progress of the Krofrom market, Dr Amoakohene revealed that they decided to fund the project with the 24-hour economy funding, because there was no dedicated fund for the stalled market project since the beginning of the project
He further revealed that plans are in place to fast-track the completion of the project
“We started the process, we’ll open the tender on 26 and later award the project to a contractor. After that, we can legally make payment to the contractor as a mobilization for him to be on site to start work, Dr Amoakohene hinted.”
The Minister believes the completion of the Krofrom and other stalled market projects in the region will give the city authorities the green light to properly decongest the city
