Ambulance carrying seven-month-old child clashes on Kumasi-Sunyani Highway, 6 feared dead

Over six people are feared dead after an ambulance carrying a seven-month-old baby clashed with a Ford commercial vehicle on the Kumasi-Sunyani highway.
The ambulance with registration number (GB 527-32) was en route to Kumasi when the accident occurred at Potrikrom on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Eyewitnesses say the ambulance driver and other survivors are battling for their lives at Adugyama hospital.
“The Ambulance Driver was trapped in the car, severely injured, the rescuers had to cut through the mauled car to get him,” an eyewitness told OTEC News.
The seven-month-old baby, who was on oxygen, is alive and receiving treatment at Adugyama hospital.
The accident scene was chaotic, with over 30 police officers directing traffic and assisting victims.
The death toll might rise due to the accident’s severity.
