Manhyia: Soloku Festival Premieres with Huge Success in Ashtown

Hundreds of people flocked to Ashanti New Town in the Kumasi Metropolis to join the maiden edition of the Soloku Festival.

The event, organized by the Member of Parliament and residents of the Manhyia South Constituency, recorded a massive turnout during its climax on Monday, April 6, 2026.

The festival featured a range of activities, including a health walk, health screening, cooking competition,business orientation forum, street jams, and games.
Addressing the gathering at Abbey’s Park, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Hon. Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, said the festival is a platform for networking, education, and community development.

“The festival will serve as a vehicle for creating and improving existing small and medium-sized businesses in the constituency,” Hon. Awuah noted.
“We aim to provide a common ground for all businesses and individuals to link up, explore, and expand their businesses.”
The MP urged all to take advantage of the festival to start their own small businesses, saying, “You will always have the chance to market yourself during such gatherings.”
He pledged his commitment to unite and provide all-inclusive leadership to develop the area.
