Hit-and-run kills one at USTED campus at Tanoso
An unidentified person has been killed in a hit-and-run incident near the University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development,USTED, campus at Tanoso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred adjacent to the Shell filling station along the Tanoso stretch on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses say the victim was struck by a speeding vehicle whose driver failed to stop after the crash.
Police from the Tanoso District Command have since conveyed the body to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and identification.
Investigations are underway to identify the deceased and track down the driver involved.
Authorities are appealing to the public, particularly relatives of missing persons, to contact the Tanoso Police Station to assist in identifying the body.
Assembly Member for the Tanoso Electoral Area, Hon. Aaron Nandie, who confirmed the death, expressed worry over the incident.
He urged the Ghana Police Service to expedite investigations and ensure the suspect is arrested and prosecuted.
