Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been re-elected as the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), securing another mandate in the party’s regional executive elections held on Saturday, August 15.
Abronye polled 201 votes to emerge victorious in the five-horse contest, defeating Joseph Mensah, who obtained 31 votes, while Yaw Afful secured 44 votes. Afari Gyan and Kwabena Oppong failed to record any votes.
His re-election gives him another opportunity to lead the party’s regional structures, coordinate constituency activities and mobilise the NPP’s grassroots base across the Bono East Region.
The chairman will also be expected to work with the newly elected regional executives to strengthen the party’s organisational structures and advance its political agenda ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In the other key contests, Kate Amponsah Agyare won the First Vice Chairman position with 252 votes, defeating Peter Boampong Asomah, who polled 29 votes.
Kwaku Antwi Agyei was elected Second Vice Chairman after securing 123 votes, beating Issa Issaka with 89 votes and Kwadwo Agyekum with 68 votes.
Kofi Ofosu Boateng emerged as Regional Secretary with 187 votes, defeating Asare Baffour Ebenezer, who obtained 93 votes.
The Deputy Secretary position went to Randy Ashraf Issahaku, who polled 145 votes against Stephen Opuni’s 135 votes, with one ballot rejected.
In the organisers’ contests, Abdul Razak Oppong won the Regional Organiser position with 229 votes, defeating Darlington Bill Boampong, who secured 52 votes.
Dauda Ibrahim Bamba was elected Youth Organiser after polling 102 votes, while Samira Sulley narrowly won the Women’s Organiser contest with 142 votes against Doris Asomah’s 139 votes.
For the Nasara Organiser position, Faisal Osman Mohammed secured 177 votes to defeat Wahab Bashiru, who polled 101 votes. Two ballots were rejected.
Veronica Tuffour won the Treasurer position with 131 votes, narrowly beating Henry Osei, who secured 124 votes, while Kassim Siaka obtained 25 votes.
Fahd Osman emerged as Communications Director with 170 votes, defeating Abubakari Yakubu, who polled 111 votes.
The results complete the election of a new Bono East Regional Executive team tasked with steering the affairs of the NPP in the region and strengthening its structures at the grassroots level.
