Photos as Otumfuo departs Manhyia Palace for US trip

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Sunday [August 23, 2026] departed from the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi for a two‑week working visit to the United States ahead of the grand celebration of Akwasidae Kɛse.

The farewell delegation was graced by Nananom of Asanteman, including Nsuase Poku III, Akyeamehene; Kyeame Jachie Amoateng; Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, Asante Mamponghene; Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, Bantamahene; Dr Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister; and Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi.

Distinguished and prominent personalities, together with members of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), also joined to extend prayers and well‑wishes for a successful mission.
