The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Martin Ameyaw, has urged the party’s Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to exercise careful consideration in the selection of his Running Mate.
In a statement on Wednesday Mr. Ameyaw said the appointment of a Running Mate is a decision that could significantly influence Dr. Bawumia’s journey toward becoming President of the Republic of Ghana, and therefore requires serious care.
According to him, the Ashanti Region has many qualified party stalwarts who can take up the position, stressing the need for the Presidential Candidate to choose someone who is loyal, a good communicator, humble and a liberal politician.
He noted that Dr. Bawumia may also decide to choose a non-political person who is diligent, kind, honest and committed to national service.
Mr. Ameyaw urged the Presidential Candidate not to succumb to pressure but to take his time in making what he described as a crucial decision and determining the appropriate time to unveil his Running Mate.
“The Ashanti Region stands solidly with you as you make this important decision. Together, we shall rise!” he stated.
