CCC launches ‘October Commission’ Evangelistic Outreach, urges active member participation

The Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) has officially launched its annual flagship soul-winning and social intervention initiative, dubbed the October Commission.

The month-long outreach is an annual event organized by CCC, one of Ghana’s leading charismatic churches headquartered in Kumasi, to blend spiritual evangelism with community development.

Each October, the church mobilizes its congregation to provide humanitarian relief to the vulnerable, impoverished, and sick through targeted medical aid, basic supplies, and social support services.

Speaking at the launch, Resident Pastor Joshua Obeng, affectionately known as PJ announced that this year’s social relief efforts will focus primarily on the residents of Ejisu.

Key Activities:

Outlining the schedule of activities, Pastor Obeng revealed that the outreach will feature a major free medical screening for Ejisu residents on October 17.

Alongside the healthcare support, the church will host an open-air donation drive, distributing clothes, food items, and other essential supplies to needy families in the municipality.

The outreach will shift focus to intensive street evangelism on October 24.

On this day, church members will deploy across Adum, the commercial hub of Kumasi, for a major outreach exercise termed Massive Evangelism, aimed at sharing the Gospel with local business owners, commuters, and residents.

“I entreat all of us to actively engage in every activity planned for this year’s October Commission,” Pastor Obeng urged.

He added, “as we visit Ejisu with medical care, food, and clothing, and carry the message of Christ to both Ejisu and Adum, let us demonstrate our shared commitment to this mission.”

Spiritual Rationale:

Explaining the foundation of the project, Pastor Obeng emphasized that the October Commission is anchored on the Great Commission, the biblical mandate given by Jesus Christ to His followers to spread the Gospel across the world.

He underscored that true Christian evangelism extends beyond oral preaching to encompass practical compassion and social action.

By meeting the tangible physical needs of surrounding communities, believers reflect the love and character of Christ to those around them.

“Any Christian who fails to share their faith is missing a fundamental duty, because our faith commands us to mirror Christ in both word and deed so that others may come to know Him,” Pastor Obeng added.
