‘EC can even petition God; Nduom will be on the ballot’
A communication team member of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) claims there is a grand conspiracy to eliminate their flagbearer, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom from the presidential race.
According to Charles Owusu, some unseen hands are micro-managing the Electoral Commission (EC) to do everything possible to disqualify the presidential hopeful.
His comment comes after the EC filed an application at the Supreme Court seeking to overturn a High Court decision which asked the electoral body to allow one of the disqualified presidential aspirants to correct anomalies on his forms.
The Commission argued that, the ruling was fundamentally challenged on the grounds of legality and public policy.
It also added that, the errors committed by some of the aspirants which led to their disqualifications are of criminal proportions and must not be taken for granted.
But a livid Charles Owusu on OTECNEWS said the PPP is unperturbed by the machinations to get their leader disqualified from the race.
He indicated that the EC led by its chairperson, Charlotte Osei can even filed an appeal to God, Dr. Nduom will be on the ballot paper on December 7.
“I’m very sad because Dr. Nduom has done nothing wrong to warrant such cruelty; all he is seeking to do is to serve his country and save people from abject poverty” he bemoaned.
The PPP youth activist said he spell an umbrella since the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) see Dr. Nduom as a threat to their electoral fortunes.
Charles Owusu urged members of the PPP to support Dr. Nduom in prayers to be able to surmount what he described as the physical and spiritual battle.
