Afigya Kwabre North to get new district assembly office complex

A short sod cutting ceremony had been performed and formally handed over the construction of multi- purpose District Assembly Administration block with auxiliary facilities for   the for Afigya Kwabre North District Assembly at Boamang in the Ashanti Region.

The project funded by the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) is estimated at several thousands of   Ghana cedis and expected to be completed by the contractor within 12 months.

The new Assembly Office Complex has about twenty two offices, including a conference hall, kitchen, store room and lavatories.

District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre North Hon. Karikari Acheamfuor who handed over the site to the contractor expressed his profound gratitude to the President Nana Akufo Addo, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural development the Works Sub-Committee of the Assembly for their support in bringing the process to this point.

According to Hon. Karikari Acheamfuor, the new administration complex, apart from relieving huge financial burden from the assembly through rent, it will also create more jobs for the people in the area.

He tasked the contractor handling the project to ensure he completes on schedule and also promised to provide the necessary impetus for early completion.

In his brief acceptance speech, the contractor; Musah Fuseini promised to do his best to complete the project within the stipulated time.

He, however, appealed to the Assembly to cooperate with him by releasing funds as and when they are needed to enable him complete the project on time.

The Gyaasehene for Boamang Nana Yaw Kwarteng said the new building is another step towards the development of the district capital.
