Ashtown and Friends Association in USA donates to alma mater

Ashtown and Friends Association, Virginia in the USA, has donated assorted books to the Afia Kobi II M/A School at Ashanti New Town in the Kumasi metropolis.

The association is made up of old students of the school, popularly known as “Boolaso School” and the books donated included exercise, reading and text, at the cost of 1,500 US dollars.

Presenting the items to the school, Stephen Owusu, who represented Chief Patron of the association, Johnny Gyamfi, said the donation was made to show appreciation to the school, through which they have been successful in life.

“The association expresses their gratitude to this school for given them the right moral education in shaping the lives of the members to reach greater heights in the society. We hope these books, especially, the reading books, will help develop children’s reading skills. The association will continue to assist the school in our capacity, and we hope other old students will emulate and do same,” he said.

The Headmistress of the school, Hannah Tuah Gyaama, receiving the books, thanked the association for the kind gesture and promised to put them into proper use.

“This presentation will help the children to improve their reading habits and take good care of them. I will use this occasion to appeal to other old students to assist the school in learning and teaching materials to enhance effective and quality education,” she appealed.
