First Lady prays for BECE candidates

Ghana’s First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has wished this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates well as the exam begins today, Monday, 10 June 2019.

“Let’s do the best we can, to make them feel at ease during this period,” Mrs Akufo-Addo posted on Facebook.

Over Five hundred thousand pupils from 16,871 schools are sitting.

Out of the 517,332 candidates, 263,616 are males and 153,716 are females.

Meanwhile, the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has banned the use of cellular devices by the supervisors of the examination.

In addition, no supervisor or invigilator would be allowed, under any circumstance, to supervise or invigilate candidates from schools to which the supervisor or invigilator was affiliated.
