I was attacked and jeered at in 2012 – Barima Sydney
Controversial hiplife artist, Barima Sydney has disclosed that some supporters of the NDC verbally attacked and jeered at him after the NPP lost the 2012 elections.
Barima Sydney also known as the hiplife Ninja declared his support and composed a song for the Npp ahead of the 2012 elections but the party lost.
The likes of Mzbel, Mr. Beautiful, Rex Omar, Kwame Dzokoto And others have bemoaned the spate of attacks on them by some supporters of the Npp for supporting the Ndc.
Speaking to Onecharles on Otec fm’s Anokyekrom, Sydney recounted how some supporters of the Ndc used his own “bye bye” Song he created in support of the Npp to mock him when the party lost the elections.
“NDC supporters surrounded my house, chanting my own “bye bye” song, whiles banging their hands and feet on my gates” he revealed.
According to him, he was never physically assaulted or abused for supporting the Npp and therefore condemned the alleged physical assaults on supporters of the NDC.
Commenting on his expectations of Nana Addo’s administration, Sydney appealed to Nana Addo to come up with policies and programs that will empower the industrious youth in the country.
“ I am not particularly concerned about the creative arts…I am even clueless about the needs of the music industry but my basic concern is youth empowerment” he intimated.
Barima Sydney has composed politically motivated songs like; African money, Kofi Yohane, onaapo among others.
